MISSION

To provide support, practical assistance during pregnancy through a child’s first year, and education on pregnancy and early parenting throughout San Luis Obispo County.

VISION

Pregnancy & Parenting Support of San Luis Obispo County (PPSSLO) serves as an advocate for healthy mothers and families, empowering mothers, fathers and families through education and information.  As a first stop resource for assisting with a pregnancy, birth and infant development, PPSSLO provides an important safety net for local women, their infants and families during pregnancy and for a year after birth.  The client staff relationship is built on trust developed through careful listening, acknowledging and tending closely to a client’s concerns and needs.  Empowering family self-sufficiency and sustainability is the desired outcome of PPSSLO’s no cost services.  Services include classes and support groups as well as practical support items for pregnancy and early child care and referrals to community resources to meet the needs of all clients.

PPSSLO’s inter culturally competent staff is actively involved in community public health initiatives supporting education on healthy pregnancies.  The Executive Board, staff and volunteers are concerned, well trained caring men and women from throughout San Luis Obispo County who are dedicated to offering help and support to those in need of PPSSLO’s free services.

PPSSLO is a private, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, independent of any other agency. PPSSLO is supported by the local community through donations and fundraising, and receives a variety of small grants.  Welcoming all individuals and families, PPSSLO provides drop-in services.

PRIVACY POLICY

PPSSLO recognizes that ensuring the privacy of our clients, volunteers and donors is essential. Contact information is stored by PPSSLO in confidential storage not available to the general public. We are concerned with keeping your information secure, and are committed to protecting your privacy and identity.

PPSSLO does not share personal information, sell, trade, or rent data to others. PPSSLO may provide aggregate statistics about our clients, volunteers and donors including information to our Board or staff for internal evaluation, but these statistics will include no personally identifiable information. PPSSLO may release information when we believe, and only when we believe in good faith, that such release is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with the law, or (b) protect the rights, property, or safety of PPSSLO and its personnel.
